Description
Born 9th October - Available NOW
They are microchipped, local vet checked, vaccinated, and wormed.
Both parents are Maremma Guardian Dogs that are working on our property and are available for inspection.
Mother ‘Meena’ lives both inside and out on our property and is bonded to our Male Maremma.
They live with other dogs, cats, and chooks and are also familiar with sheep and cows.
Meena has a lovely easy temperament and is friendly, yet still barks loudly at any potential intruders.
The Male Sire 'Luca' is a large male, he also shares his duty outside whilst maintaining a vigilant presence at our poultry sheds, the lambing area, and often at times, when we are away, he watches over our main house, carport and workshop garage.
The Maremma Pups are handled regularly and throughout the day, they are for a time both indoors with us and outdoors with both chooks and lambs and often free-range play as they have been together adventuring.
These pups are naturally popular with children so shortly after they were born, they were introduced to young children and also have been socialised around seniors, people with a disability, and other families.
They have experienced children of various ages from 5-13 and so I am more than confident that they will be suitable for a home where there are children to be bonded who are involved with their care and upkeep..
The pups have not been named at all so this process will make it easy to assign a recall name pattern to the owner.
There are 4 males and 5 females and simple collar colour and a number are all they are known by until the right name has been found and each pup placed.
These pups are all weaned and have been thoroughly vet checked, are all wormed, vaccinated, and microchipped and they are ready to go now.
This wonderful working breed is generally not suitable or easily adjusted for suburban living and to avoid boredom and poor social habits, they will need a good deal of care or motivation and activity so they should have a regular job to do as is their nature.
The pups have spent a busy time outdoors during the day around our sheep, including newborn lambs and chickens.
The puppies were born and have been raised in the paddock near the chickens so they are bonding to farm animals at an early age.
A Maremma pup takes time and patience to train a guardian dog and this does not happen overnight.
With time and training, you will be rewarded with an amazing dog and understand, that these dogs are instinctively different to a family pet, so, I would recommend researching first to make sure this is the puppy for you.
They have beautiful temperaments and are easy to handle and at this early stage, they all show wonderful promise to fulfill their breed's task of guarding livestock, with the continued process for further training.
With socialisation, you would need work to maintain their instinct or to have space or an opportunity for these dogs to work for you, and they love to protect.
