Yarding: 38,939
Lamb numbers remained similar with 27,100 penned. Quality varied throughout the yarding, light lambs had a range from very good to plainer secondary types. Trade weight categories became patchy and had limited well finished lambs with good weight and shape, which reflected on the results. Heavy export weights presented in mostly excellent condition with a limited offering. All the usual buying group attended in a market that opened very strong over the lighter store and trade weight lambs, then became erratic for the remainer of the sale, however the heavy export categories sold very strong. Light store and trade lambs sold $4 either side of firm.
The general run of medium and heavy trade gained $4 for the better quality and to $5 softer for the plainer secondary type. Extra heavy export lambs were in limited supply and in high demand, to sell to a top of $318, gaining $6/head but slightly cheaper c/kg, and the 26kg to 30kg lambs sold to $8/head softer.
