Greens senator Lee Rhiannon has introduced a Bill to phase out live animal exports, which has the backing of well-regarded live exports veterinarian Dr Lynn Simpson.
The Federal Government hired Dr Simpson to investigate live export cruelty back in 2012.
Dr Simpson said, "the live export trade has had too many chances for redemption and failed; it’s time to transition to safe, humane, chilled/frozen meat products".
The Australian live export is a 2 billion dollar industry and is especially important to Cattle Graziers in the Northern Australia
