Applications now open for GRDC Innovation Program 2018. Creative thinkers across all industries encouraged to apply.

Funding applications for GRDC’s $5 million Innovation Program 2018 are now open.

The Program has two distinct components - one aimed at accelerating the development and commercialisation of innovative technologies, and the other aimed at supporting feasibility analysis of innovative business concepts.

Applications under the Accelerating Innovative Technologies component of the Program are now being accepted, with applications under the Developing Innovative Businesses part of the Program to open shortly (more information will be provided then).

The Innovation Program is about new ways of thinking. Innovative ideas can come from all types of industry and organisations. If you have a creative idea or novel technology solution, we encourage you to apply - even if your concept is from a sector not traditionally associated with broadacre farming.

Accelerating Innovative Technologies funding round

Under the Accelerating Innovative Technologies component of the Program, funding amounts from $40,000 upwards can be sought. While any application will be considered, priority will be given to those that address three key areas:

* Novel engineering or chemical solutions to managing hostile soils in broad acre grains production;

* Novel solutions for managing the impact of frost on broad acre grains production;

* Novel non-chemical solutions to weed management and control in the Australian broad acre grains production.

Support under the Program can range from help to develop a business case or proof of concept over a 3-6 month timeframe, through to longer 1-2 year project periods for activities such as pre-commercial testing or scale-up strategies

Program applications will be assessed by GRDC via a rigorous multi-step process, conducted by teams with expertise and proven competency in the priority areas. We are committed to funding projects that have the greatest potential to deliver tangible value.

Applications / Closing Date

Accelerating Innovative Technologies applications as part of the Innovation Program 2018 close on Friday 6 April 2018 and must be made via GRDC’s Grains Investment Portal online.

Applying

Applying for GRDC investments is now done using the GRDC Grains Investment Portal. Once registered, users can visit the Portal anytime.

To register as a user, please visit https://access.grdc.com.au

Click on the register here. https://access.grdc.com.au/

Complete the Registration Form. Fill in all the fields: your email address, a password and the captcha. Your password must be alphanumeric with at least one special character (i.e. not a letter or number). Click register to continue the process.

Registration is confirmed by the system sending an email to you, with details to complete the registration process.

Once the registration process is complete, you can sign in and review all investments open for tender.

Once you have located this investment, you can commence the application process by completing the details for each field available, until you reach “Submit Application” on the last page.
