Three months ago we launched DelayPay, a new product that enabled Farm Tender customers to purchase farm inputs and pay for them up to 6 months later.
Putting something new out there always gives me a buzz. The feeling when you start something new like DelayPay is a mix between the fear that no one will want it and the excitement that you might have created something that people really need.
Three months on and I am happy to report that DelayPay seems to be hitting the mark with a number of farmers. What I am most happy about is that it has really helped a number of farmers to make a real difference to their businesses.
We have seen farmers use DelayPay for a wide variety of situations such as buyIng machinery needed for contract work over the harvest period, stockfeed purchases for a number of dairy and beef farmers to help them through the dry and more recently diesel, fertiliser and seed purchases by cropping businesses to ease the cashflow burden while they prepare for this years planting.

The flexibility of DelayPay has been well received, we have seen some people make small partial payments as they go so they can reduce the end cost, some who have waited on a sale so they can pay when they have the cash in the bank, others who are waiting for the full term so they can better manage their cashflow over the first half of the year.
I am looking forward to seeing what this year brings, if the last three months of 2018 are any indication I am hoping we have developed something simple and affordable that farmers can call on in a way that best suits their business.
