Does the modern Ute cut it? - How many UTV's (side by sides, whatever you want to call them) do you see on Farms these days? Heaps. It's a trend that has been around for a while. And it got me thinking, why is this the case?

Are they that good that we can't do without them? Yes possibly. Or is it that the modern Ute doesn't cut it on the Farm anymore? Let's explore this further.

We gave away a new Toyota Hilux last year, and when I delivered it to the winning party, I thought to myself, this thing is not built to withstand the rough and tumble of the Farm. Utes are now built for tradies and townies, so they aint what they used to be, with the exception of the Landcruiser. They have been smart not to alter them too much over the years, and plenty would argue that they can handle the going.

So that's my theory on why UTVs have become popular because most Ute's aren't hardy enough to do the work on the Farm any longer. They are less likely to enter a paddock these days, and many sit in the Garage waiting for a trip to town or perhaps the local Pub on a Friday night. What do you reckon?
