Elders is expanding its water trading business with the recruitment of four highly regarded brokers from their previous roles at fellow water trader Waterfind
Experienced brokers, Anthony Bent, Kevin Rochow, Matthew Moar, and Peter Gale have all joined Elders and will be based at the group’s head office in Adelaide.
The Elders’ water trading team will assist clients to manage their temporary and permanent water requirements nationally, working closely with Elders’ leading agribusiness network that spans over 400 sites Australia wide. It will compliment the Company’s existing water trading operations and substantially grow Elders’ market share, establishing it as a genuine leading water broker in the Australian market.
Tom Russo, Elders’ General Manager Real Estate says, “The recruitment of this team of professionals enhances our full service offering, delivering valuable advice and transaction services to our clients, in conjunction with our existing technical services and commodity marketing capabilities.
“Our focus in the water space is on creating a capital light broking business based around high calibre professionals who deliver value to our clients. We will continue to recruit the right people to expand this business, providing them with the exciting opportunity to leverage our extensive network and deep relationships within Australian agriculture. We do not currently have any intention of investing in water infrastructure businesses”.
Appointed as general manager of real estate in January 2016, Tom Russo has assumed responsibility for the strategic development of the national Elders Real Estate group, including 279 points of presence across rural and residential agency, real estate franchise, property management, water trading and home loans.
Anthony Bent will lead the new water trading team and says, “Having been with Waterfind for several years, I am now looking forward to working within a national network that is entrenched in rural Australia and deeply respected. We’re excited about the opportunities we will be able to create for clients to maximise the returns from their water portfolios.”
