Extra heavy Lambs ease at Bendigo

Yarding - 44,120 (+12,120).
Lambs - 33,370 (+10,370).
Sheep - 10,750 (+1750).
Lamb numbers lifted and the quality was good and contained a very good run of heavy and extra heavy grain assisted lambs. Store lambs were not as well supplied and there were reasonable numbers of trade lambs. The market sold to a mostly firm trend with the extra heavy lambs selling to a cheaper trend.
Store lambs sold from $91 to $169 with lambs to feed selling to $226/head. The 2 score processing lambs to 16kg made from $143 to$168/head. Medium and heavy trade lambs to 22kg were firm to $3 dearer, selling from $166 to $222/head. Heavy lambs to 26kg were firm, selling from $194 to $250/head. Carcase prices averaged from 920c to 960c/kg cwt. Extra heavy lambs to 30kg were back $3, making from $250 to $291/head and those over 30kg were $16 to $17 cheaper, selling from $288 to $342/head. Trade Merino lambs sold from $182 to $260 and heavy weights reached $280/head. The best of the heavy hoggets sold to $240/head.

Mutton numbers lifted. Prices eased $6 to $10/head across most grades. Medium weight ewes sold from $134 to $188/head. Heavy crossbred ewes made from $160 to $220 and extra heavy ewes sold from $210 to $290/head, averaging 670c to 700c/kg cwt. Merino ewes reached $247 and wethers made to $289/head, averaging around 750c/kg cwt for the wethers.
