We have finally got the go ahead to open a store/yard in Elmore (Vic), directly opposite the Elmore Bakery. The store will be known and the Farm Tender "Prime" Ag Centre (PAC).
The PAC will be a combination of an online presence and physical store/yard that will work hand in hand with each other. The PAC will also act as a distribution centre and will give us the ability to store as well as freight directly from the yard or manufacturer to your local town or even to the Farm.
What will be sold through the PAC?
With over 26,000 Farmer members it gives us scope to market the thousands of products that we already have earmarked. We will focus on bulk orders of Chemical, Fertiliser, Animal Health, Fencing Supplies, Irrigation Supplies, General Farm Merchandise, Certified Seed, Bagged Stockfeed, New Livestock Handling Equipment, New Machinery and General Farming Equipment to name a few. Virtually just about anything Farmers spend their money on.

How will it differ from any other Ag retail store?
Our model will be a bit different, like the Costco approach whereby if you pay the "Prime" Monthly Members (PMM) fee, you then get access to discounts on nearly all the items listed through the PAC. We will offer 2 x prices; one will be a RRP (which is available to non-members) and the other, a PMM price which will be a discount price (for PMM's only). Effectively we will be buying at wholesale and giving some of the retail margin back to the PMM's.
What is it cost to become a PMM?
A PMM will cost $80 + GST per month for 12 months minimum; we fully understand that we have to provide value for that membership and will work hard to provide just that.

"Prime" Monthly Member Case study
Already we are seeing case studies of the value in becoming a PMM, just yesterday we sold a 1000/mt silo through the PAC for just over $100k, and the discount was 4% on the final invoice from the supplier. This turned out to be a $4280 saving for a 12-month PMM fee of $960 plus GST. This same person also sells 4 or 5 items of Machinery and will then take advantage of the 25% discount on anything he sells through Farm Tender during that 12 months. He also might buy something at the PAC.
Office on site
We intend to have an office in place and set up by mid to late February and manned by early March. People will be able to come in and talk to us about how it all works.
Who will be running the Ag Centre?
Dwain Duxson and Matt Henke will be working from the Ag Centre on a daily basis. The focus for the two of us will shift from the Farm Tender side to the "Prime" side which deals in a different range of products and operates under a different business model. It will be a new and exciting era for Farm Tender and in a way, "Prime" is like starting over again.
