Former CBH boss Dr Andrew Crane on board for SunRice move to ASX

Leading Australian branded food business SunRice today announced Dr. Andrew Crane as the proposed additional External Director that A Class grower shareholders will consider voting on to the SunRice Board at the Company’s AGM in September 2018.
Dr. Crane has more than 30 years’ experience working in agriculture for a range of trading, processing and international marketing businesses as statutory authorities, listed entities and cooperatives. He recently retired after eight years as CEO of CBH to pursue a Non-Executive Director career. CBH is Australia’s second largest private company with AUD 3.9 billion turnover, running a 15 million tonne grain supply chain including 200 receival sites, ports and rail fleet and is Australia’s largest grain trader and exporter.
Dr. Crane has more than 25 years’ experience trading with and investing in Asia including as a former CBH JV Director of Interflour, one of Asia’s largest flour milling businesses operating in Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia. A full biography is below.

Dr. Crane will be engaged as a consultant to SunRice ahead of the AGM. His election to the Board will be voted on at the SunRice AGM on 20 September 2018 by A Class grower shareholders. If approved, the Board’s composition will continue to comprise a majority of Grower Directors.

Biography – Dr. Andrew Crane
Andrew Crane recently retired after eight years as CEO of CBH to pursue a Non-Executive Director career. CBH is Australia’s second largest private company with AUD 3.9 billion turnover, running a 15 million tonne grain supply chain including 200 receival sites, ports, rail fleet and Australia’s largest grain trader/exporter. Andrew was also a CBH JV director of Interflour one of Asia’s largest flour milling businesses operating in Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Prior to being CEO Andrew was General Manager Strategy and Business Development and General Manager Marketing and Trading with over 25 years’ experience trading with and investing in Asia.
Before emigrating to Australia from the UK in 2001 Andrew had a career in the European malting and brewing industry covering roles in manufacturing, purchasing and international sales.
Andrew was invited to join the Prime Minister’s B20 Leadership Group in 2014 when Australia hosted the G20. Dr Crane has since worked on the Trade & Investment, Infrastructure and Education & Employment Taskforces contributing to the subsequent G20 meetings in Turkey, China, Germany and Argentina in 2018.
In 2016 Andrew was listed as one of Western Australia’s most influential business leaders as a thought leader on agriculture. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies, a PhD in Remote Sensing of Agriculture and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Directors.
