GrainCorp today revealed it is looking for over 2,000 people to join their team this harvest.
These harvest casual roles are available across the entire GrainCorp network – Queensland, through New South Wales to Victoria. GrainCorp’s General Manager Storage and Logistics, Nigel Lotz, says: “As one of Australia’s largest seasonal employers, harvest casuals play a vital role in our operations. They work closely with our staff to ensure our sites run efficiently and safely.
“Harvest casuals will be based in local towns where they will spend time and money, which we know is a welcome boost to local businesses.
“Last year we received over 12 million tonnes through our network which was a great accomplishment for the thousands of harvest causals who were part of our team. There is a real sense of achievement when you can see the bunkers filling up and the pride on growers’ faces at the end of harvest.
“Typically, we get a mix of university students, international travellers and those looking for extra work. We have a great induction program that teaches our team members the skills needed to get the job done.
“We are an equal opportunity employer, so please feel free to contact us – there are a range of roles available, from grain sampling to general labouring and laboratory support.
“It’s a great way to be part of a team, get technical training and agricultural experience. Whether up-country or at one of our ports, we are looking for enthusiastic team players. I would encourage anyone considering a role to visit our website and see what is available in your area,” Mr Lotz said.
Siobhan Gleeson (pictured) from Narromine said: “It was my first harvest last year and it was such a great experience I am back again!
“You are part of a team and know you are counting on each other. During the peak when there are non-stop trucks for your shift you know you have to work together.
“I’m a university student so this is a great way to earn some cash during the holidays and get exposed to a different side of agriculture. GrainCorp have a massive focus on safety, so you know you’ll work hard but do it safely,” Ms Gleeson said.
Applications are now open. Please visit careers.graincorp.com.au for more information.
