It’s PowerfulFarmers are normally humble people, with the odd bragger thrown in there for good measure. So getting Farmers to tell their story can be difficult to say the least.

I listened to a podcast that featured prominent Esperance area Farmer Andrew Fowler, who runs the 50,000-hectare Chillwell Farms. He told his story on his Humans of Agriculture podcast; take a listen hereFarmers are reluctant to tell their story for a number of reasons. Mainly, they don't want to be seen to be bragging, or they might not think that their story is very interesting to others. They might not be confident enough to tell their story.

But Andrew is happy to tell his, and he does it very well. So, according to Andrew and Oli (the host), they came to the conclusion that each Farmer telling their story can not only be a promotion of their Farming business but, more important, a story promoting the industry they are in. Sort of promoting both.

For Farmers, that's how they learn, listening to and studying other Farmers. Farmers are learning from Farmers. It's powerful. So never for one minute think you are bragging or anything like that; tell your story whenever you get the opportunity, and you will be helping your fellow Farmers and helping your industry as a whole.
