At the MAGIE show in Bloomington, Ill., John Deere introduced the AB485 Air Boom option to its F4365 High-Capacity Nutrient Applicator.
Two years ago at the same show, the company unveiled its F4365 with spinner spreader.
Now, the new air boom option allows operators to more accurately apply dry fertiliser across a wide 70-ft. swath at speeds up to 30 mph, and at maximum rates up to 1,200 lbs. per acre at 10 mph.
The new air boom is powered by a simple and efficient air distribution system that consistently delivers an even flow of dry fertilizer from the dry box, through the booms and down to the ground. Precision ag options include John Deere AutoTrac and half-boom width section control as well as variable-rate options. Other technologies include a new 4600 CommandCenter Display with SpreadStar. JDLink Connect and Wireless Data Transfer, and AgLogic.
The 300-cubic ft. capacity dry box features dual-bins and unique tarp bows that fold in and out—so you don’t have to work around when cleaning out the box. The dry box also features an expanded metal footbridge all the way around the inside of the box.
The oil filter has been located on the right side of the machine to keep it cleaner and less prone to dirt, dust and debris.
