Graduate Criteria

Our graduate program is open to candidates in their final year of university studies in the following fields:
   * Agricultural Business
   * Agricultural Science
   * Business: Commerce & Marketing
   * Engineering

We are seeking committed people with the following attributes:
   * Flexible
   * Organised
   * Willing to work hard to achieve our vision
   * Actively seek challenges
   * Well developed interpersonal skills
   * Previous work experience on a farm or in an agricultural based industry
   * Applicants with a GPA of five or higher will have the most opportunity of success during the selection process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will I be working?
If successful for the John Deere Limited position, you will be working in our Head Office in Brisbane. There will be occasional field trips to regional Australia and New Zealand with our field staff and dealers to attend field days and dealer shows.

How many graduates is John Deere looking for?
We look for at least two graduates every year.

When do applications close?
Australian applications close mid-April every year.

When will I hear about the status of my application?
We will acknowledge your application by e-mail. It is expected that interviews will be held during May and June. After that time the unsuccessful applicants will be informed.

Does John Deere support further study?
Yes, John Deere is keen for staff members to further develop their skills. If you plan to go on and complete a post graduate degree within an area that is relevant to your job, we would be happy to discuss appropriate support with you.

Does John Deere employ overseas students?
You must have a legal right to work in Australia. That is, you need to be a citizen of either Australia or New Zealand or hold a visa which allows you to work in Australia permanently. Unfortunately we will not accept applications from candidates who are unable to work in Australia.

If I'm from New Zealand, can I apply for the Australian graduate position and vice versa?
Yes, however, you must have the legal right to work in Australia.

If I do not finish my studies by the end of the year can I work part time and study?
Unfortunately we require graduates who are able to work full time. We will only be considering people who have completed their studies.

Application Process

Applications for the 2019 intake are now open and will close 5:00 pm, 2 April 2018.
Applicants

All applications for our Graduate Program will need to be submitted online. To complete your application, you will need:
   * A cover letter
   * Your resume
   * A copy of your latest academic results
   * A certified copy of your birth certificate; OR
   * Work visa; OR
   * Citizenship certificate to show you are legally able to work in Australia.


Selection Process

The selection process is composed of various stages and you need to be successful at each stage in order to progress. The process is flexible and may include some or all of the following steps:
   * Screening of written applications
   * Aptitude testing
   * Video screening interviews
   * Onsite face-to-face interviews
   * Second-round interviews (this may not be required)
