Numbers decreased to 6,559 lambs of mixed quality, ranging from plain to good. Not all the usual buying group attended, and some present not active which didn’t affect the the market with new season lambs selling firm to dearer throughout the yarding, with limited numbers in all categories. Store buyers were active with lambs back to the paddock, sold from $116 to $205, to be $5 to $10/head dearer, ranging from 940c to 1050c/kg cwt.

New season light lambs under 18kg to the trade made from $128 to $201, up $5 to $12/head. Lambs 18 to 20kg sold $191 to $205, firm to $10/head stronger. Lambs 20kg to 22kg made from $210 to $231, to $5/head dearer and averaging 960c to 980c/kg cwt. Lambs 22kg to 24kg sold from $215 to $239, firm to $3 better to average 950c to 970c cwt, and lambs 24kg to 26kg were in demand selling from $240 to $280/head, to average 960c to 1000c/kg cwt. Old lambs were very limited and quality mixed, selling from $116 to $284/head to be firm to slightly dearer for the neat short skins to average 880c to 920c/kg cwt.

4,700 sheep yarded of mixed quality ranging from plain to good. The market was softer on the heavy mutton, while light sheep remained firm. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $165 to $220/head with Merino mutton to average around 620c to 650c/kg cwt. Heavy crossbred ewes sold from $160 to $210 to average 600c to 625c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino wethers sold from $168 to $230/head to average 640c to 680c/kg cwt
