Looking for inspiration. Keep reading - There are times in our Agricultural journey when we just sit there and take notice. I have heard a couple of stories that we relayed through The Farmers Club newsletter in the last 24 hours that are inspiring.

The first one was this: "HAY CARTERS AVAILABLE - 3 x fit young reliable 18-year-old lads all with divers licences, we have our own 4 wheel drive Ute and Trailer. Currently available weekends. After the 10th of Nov we will be available 7 days a week throughout the school holiday. Fleurieu and Adelaide Hills area of SA. $2 a bale from the paddock and neatly stacked in shed. Contact….."

The second one was this: "Morning Dwain. Our main Shearing got underway this week, and after reading of the young Hay carters this morning, I write to tell you about a young fellow on the Shearing team. This kid is 21, and he is Shearing in a team of 6 that hail from Western NSW. He's knocking out 200 of our big framed heavy-cutting Goolgumbla blood Ewes by 5 pm each day, which is when they knock off up here (SA). The contractor tells us he's never seen a Shearer do it here (at our place) before. There's not much of him, but he's Shearing them beautifully, and the rest of the team has lifted their effort trying to go with him. Apparently, the kid already has bought two houses in Mildura at 21 years of age".

If this is indicative of who’s going to be running Ag in the future, then we are in good hands. This sort of stuff inspires you to get going yourself. These are positive stories, so please forward them to whoever you might see fit. Do you have a story of someone young in Ag who is doing something inspiring? Reply to dwaind@farmtender.com.au

And let's add another - I don't know this young lady, but I know of her and know the family. She has inspired Farming groups around the country that are fighting the renewable energy push. Her name is Eleanor Parry, from St Arnaud in Victoria, and she has just released her very own podcast called "Hey Farmer Farmer". Here is the Apple version and here is the Spotify version. Make sure you download and tune in.

She's also a gun musician. Her first podcast with Billy Baldwin is raw, and it's a ripper. This young lady gets Farming and has a bright future in whatever she does. Reply to dwaind@farmtender.com.au
