The Australian dollar has continued its downward trajectory, with no signs of a turnaround in the short-term. This is providing some support to overseas buyers, keeping the futures active while local prices continue to surge.
Just a single contract of 19 micron fleece traded this week, it hit a price of 2,225¢ for January 2019.
21 micron wool traded at between 2205¢ and 2280¢ for September 2018. Trades for this category also dealt at 2,200¢ for October, 2150¢ for November and 2,150¢ for December 2018. 2019 contracts were struck at 2110¢ for February and 2000¢ out to June next year.
There were also a couple of broad fibre trades. 28 micron wool traded at a range of 900¢ to 930¢ for December 2018.
No minimum price contracts traded this week.
