Mecardo Analysis - Weekly Wool Forwards – Week ending 7th September 2018

The wool forwards market pushed into finer territory this week, with a few trades on 18 micron fibres. In total 11 contracts traded, again the market finding support for overseas buyers thanks to the falling Aussie dollar.
In the fine wool category, 18 micron contracts traded at 2,625¢ for December 2018. An 18.5 micron trade was also dealt for December at 2,400¢. A single contract for 19 micron wool traded at 2,350 for October 2018.
21 micron fibres traded at 2,150¢ for January 2019, 2,155¢ for March and 2,150¢ for April. While May and June 2019 saw trades struck at 2,100¢ and 2,120¢ respectively.
Just two contracts traded in the broader fleeces this week. 28 micron wool was dealt at 930¢ for March and 925¢ for June 2019.
No minimum price contracts were traded this week.
