Lamb supply eased again to 9,576 head. The quality was mixed with some pens of good quality grain assisted lambs. The usual buying group attended and operated in a firm to cheaper market on lambs this week, with the demand on the 22-26kg trade lambs. Trade weight lambs sold to $253/head, with the better quality lambs selling from 930c to 995c/kg cwt. There were no extra heavy export lambs on offer. Feeders and restockers paid to $179/head for lambs.

Light weight 2 score lambs 12-18kg sold from $103 to $170, to average 820c, while light trade 2 and 3 score lambs 18- 22kg made from $155 to $215/head averaging 860c/kg cwt. Medium trade weight 3 and 4 score lambs 22-24kg sold from $190 to $238/head, or from 813c to 925c,to average 915c/kg cwt. Heavy 3 to 4 score trade weight lambs 24-26 kg made from $227 to $253, averaging 940c, while export lambs 26-30kg sold to $246/head to average 900c/kg cwt. Crossbred hoggets sold from $108 to $212 and Merinos sold from $127 to $149/head.

Sheep numbers also eased this week to 3,876 head. There was strong competition from local processors for the well covered sheep, with Merino mutton averaging 610c/kg and more in places, with good quality runs of Merino ewes and wethers on offer. Light weight 1 and 2 score sheep made from $95 to $116 to average 610c/kg, with very light 1 scores selling from $38 to $76/head. Medium weight 2 and 3 score sheep made from $110 to $153/head, or from 523c to 636c, with Merino mutton averaging 610c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino ewes sold to $170 averaging610c/kg, while heavy Merino wethers sold from $149 to $170/head to average 630c/kg. Medium weights sold from $101 to $159 to average605c/kg, and heavy crossbred wethers sold from $120 to $187/head. Rams sold from $55 to $180/head.
