More of this please - I see where the Dowerin Machinery Field Day organising crew put on a luncheon in the Perth CBD and got 700 hundred people along. What a great idea. They called it “Bringing Dowerin Downtown”.

We all talk about bridging the gap between us country folk and our city cousins and there's probably no better way to do it than a full on luncheon.

The scene was set a couple of weeks beforehand as a promo when they bought 4 x different-coloured million-dollar-plus Headers into a CBD Park for all to see. Another great initiative to showcase the sophistication of our Farming practices these days.

There is a certain type of Cityite that thinks we are destroying the planet, and we will always find it very hard to change their minds, but there are alot of other city people who would love to learn more about Farming and how it all works. Well done to all the organisers we think it's just a wonderful idea and we need to think about how we can do similar things around the country in different ways. The Dowerin Machinery Field Days are on the 28th and 29 of August at Dowerin. Farm Tender is on site 078A in Zone 4, the Football Oval. What ideas do you have for something similar?
