Yarding: 30,386
Lamb numbers slipped to 23,150 penned, quality varied through the trade and store categories with a range from plain to excellent, well finished lambs in short skins with good weight and shape were limited and in demand. There was an excellent run of extra heavy export weights offered. Not all the usual buyers were present in a market that opened much stronger to a week ago, then become erratic over the trade and store weights as buyers become selective. However, heavy trade and extra heavy export weight categories remained strong throughout the sale.
Light store and trade lambs sold to $4 to $8/head dearer with store buyers putting the pressure on processors. The general run of medium and heavy trade gained $5, with the really well presented lambs in short skins to $10/head dearer. Extra heavy export lambs were again in high demand selling to a top of $324, gaining $10 to $14/head.
