Ricegrowers Association conference theme is “Locally Owned – Globally Focused”

The 2018 Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia (RGA) Annual Conference will be held in Moama, NSW on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd August at the Rich River Golf Club.
RGA President, Jeremy Morton, said this year’s conference theme, “Locally Owned – Globally Focused” celebrates not only Australian rice, but the people, growers, the company, systems and technology that play a vital role in making Australian rice competitive on the global stage.
“The rice industry is a unique industry, with rice being an important crop within our growers’ irrigation systems,” Mr Morton said.
The conference theme “Locally Owned – Globally Focused” will be interpreted through a range of interesting topics on the day including addresses from guest speakers, Rob Gordon, CEO, SunRice, Matt Herring, Wildlife Ecologist, Murray Wildlife, Rob McGavin, CEO & Executive Chairman, Boundary Bend Limited and a Technology and User Application Panel Session including the following panelists, Tim Harvey, General Manager Strategy, Innovation, and Operations for Regional and Agribusiness Banking, Commonwealth Bank, Matt Kelly, Advisor for NSW Riverina, Precision Agriculture and Alicia Garden, Chief Executive Officer, Discovery Ag.
The annual Gala Conference Dinner will be held on the evening of the 2nd at Radcliffe’s, Echuca VIC, including an address from Australia’s most prominent futurist, Dr Peter Ellyard. Two post-conference tours will be held on Friday afternoon, taking visitors on either a tour of the Barmah Choke or lunch at the historic Perricoota Station.
The ongoing commitment and generosity of our conference sponsors, including our platinum sponsor Commonwealth Bank, has ensured that we can offer conference registration at a cost of $85 for financial members of the RGA and their partners. Non-members and non-financial members are welcome to attend at a cost of $115 per person.
