Lamb supply gained to 7,462 of mixed quality penned, most of the usual buying group returned and were active, with more competition from store buyers in a market that was either side of firm throughout the yarding. Light trade lambs sold firm to a few dollars softer, medium trade weights sold mostly firm, with strong competition for heavy trade weights with good fat covers sold well firm to $12/head dearer in places. Heavy export lambs were in limited supply to be sold to $4 stronger and extra heavy over 30kg cwt were to $2 to $4/head dearer but not the numbers offered. Competition for the very limited number of new season lambs was again strong, selling from $145 to 270/head, firm to slightly softer.

Very light 1 and 2 score lambs to the processor to suit MK orders under 18kg cwt sold from $112 to $170/head. Lambs to the trade, 18kg to 22kg, sold from $162 to $210, 22kg to 24kg, made from $212 to $244/head with a range of 900c to 960c/kg cwt. Lambs 24kg to 26kg sold from $239 to $254/head, to average 940c to 980c/kg cwt. Export 4 score 26kg to 30kg lambs, sold from $263 to $289 and over 30kg sold from $295 to $305/head.

Sheep supply was back to 3,906 yarded of mixed quality, heavy mutton opened much stronger to be $10 to $20/head dearer in places while light weights sold firm to slightly softer to a week ago. Heavy Merino wethers made from $172 to $275/head with an average range of 695c to 750c/kg cwt. The lighter weights sold from $90 to $160/head. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $174 to $202 to average 670c and heavy crossbred mutton made $171 to $255/head, averaging 625c/kg cwt
