About Andrew
Andrew is a committed Farmer's representative and advocate who speaks out on a number of industry issues. He's a Grain Grower and Sheep Farmer at Rupanyup, in the Wimmera area of Victoria. Andrew also executed his first Shipload of Grain recently and is a spokesman for Farmers who are fighting Renewable Energy and Mining issues. We have alot to chat about.
Andrew will be speaking from 11:30 to 12:00 noon.
Some of the questions we want to fire at Andrew might include:
- Where do you Farm, and what do you Farm?
- Tell us why you decided to put together a bulk Shipload of 33,000 tonnes of APW wheat?
- How many years in the planning?
- Was it a difficult assignment, and will you be doing it again?
- The Ship left Geelong. Did you source the Wheat from Farmers locally, or did you do it through a trader?
- Was it a profitable venture, and would you recommend others attempt it?
- You're on the board of Grain Producers Australia. How do you support support Grain Growers?
- What advice would you have for young people wanting to get involved in Grower Groups or Ag Advocacy?
- You're also the spokesman for the Southern Wimmera Renewables Research Association. What is its main focus?
- Are you essentially representing Farmers and the local communities who oppose Renewable Energy projects?
- Are you doing the same with the Mining threat that some Farmers are coming up against?
- Can renewable projects and Farmers coexist, or are they at opposite ends of the spectrum?
- Is it a fait accompli that the Governments can compulsorily acquire Land for Renewable Projects?
- If a Solar or Wind Turbine project goes ahead, Farmer gets compensated. What about Powerline Towers?
- Who is responsible for the Wind Towers if they are decommissioned or the company who owns them goes broke?
