Waiting for the new season Hay to arrive
I get the feeling that most people in the Fodder industry are looking forward to the new season Hay to arrive. "Old season Hay stocks are all but exhausted" SA based salesman John Drum said.
Hay is expected to be dropped in around two weeks time in the Mallee areas of SA and Vic. We have even heard of a parcel of Hay cut around the Goondiwindi area last week which, unfortunately (or more so, fortunately) got 20-30mm of rain on it over the weekend. Some say they went to early.
Goondiwindi based salesman Mike Pickard has been sending Cane Trash from Tully, Qld as far South as Nowra, NSW and to all parts in-between in the last two weeks.
"Due to a lack of supply, pricing is very inconsistent. With some small parcel's attracting very large price tags", according to Kerang based salesman Paul Grayling
We have decided to pull our table of prices until the new season gets underway, the reason being is that it doesn't reflect where the market is at currently
The next report will be in two weeks time.
