It was a privilege yesterday meeting Will and Karl Hooke and their families at their properties in Serpentine, Victoria.

They run Willera Merinos, a business that has been nurtured and expanded over 5 generations and includes production of merino wool, prime merino lambs and crops (wheat, barley, canola and oats).

Not only did we receive a tour of one of their three properties – alongside local agribusiness banker Jacob Heavyside– but we officially launched our partnership with Climateworks (Monash University).

This partnership will see us develop a set of national sustainable agriculture metrics at scale, enabling us to play a role in future proofing the agricultural industry against environmental challenges.

NAB will work with ClimateWorks Australia to set up the initiative which will bring together partners from the agriculture sector including food, fibre and timber as well as the finance sector, research and government.
