They have form... Good form - There are no flies on the West Australians. As we write, they are heading through the streets of Perth in their Trucks and Utes, letting the world know how they feel about the abolishment of Live Exports.

Hat's off to them, and let's hope it leads to something very positive. I'd argue that here over East here, we would struggle to get such an event up and running. It would almost be a waste of time, but the Farmers of WA have shown us a clean pair of heels, and I'm sure every person associated with Ag outside of WA is barracking for them today. It’s inspiring.

And they have form, they made their State Government abolish the Aboriginal Heritage Act of WA, at least for the time being. That would have given them the confidence to put on this rally and have a large number of people support it. And by the looks of it, many have made the effort.

Most of the Farmers affected have probably had some time to think about the implications of such a ban with a fairly clear head. The initial shock and anger would have subsided somewhat, but today's event will stir up those emotions again. This might be both a good and bad thing. The best thing to come out of it apart from a reversal of the decision will be knowing that every WA Farmer has each other's back, and that is very comforting to know when you are fighting for a common cause. Go well. What is your observation of this protest/rally? Reply to dwaind@farmtender.com.au
