This will be big - On January 8th, at the SpaceX headquarters in Texas, something significant happened, something that will be of great benefit to Farmers and Farming. So what happened was Starlink successfully sent and received their first text message to and from a cell (mobile) satellite they launched six days prior.

Bill Mitchell, the inventor of the Opti-Weigh paddock weighing system for Livestock, said, "This is one of the few things that genuinely fits with the term game changer".

We have mentioned this technology is coming in the past, and it's coming to fruition quickly. It will just connect directly with your current mobile phone, and you will have service from anywhere. They are doing it for text messages first, then talk, and followed by data.

I'd say in a couple of years' time, we will all be able to watch a Footy Game from the middle of the Simpson Desert. Many of you out there have no or very limited mobile service, and some say it is getting weaker. This will enable all Farmers and other Agricultural businesses to be able to do business on an equal footing. Your Farming life will change on the back of this. Genuinely exciting time ahead.
