Lamb Numbers over double with 12,200 penned. Quality varied, with new season lambs mostly very good and the older lambs had a wide range from plain to good. More buyers were on the rail in a market that open softer to gain some momentum midway through on the better quality older lambs and the new season lambs with shape and cover, however bidding was subdued over the plainer lots throughout the yarding. Store buyers were more active on the lighter new season lambs. New season light trade sold to $5/head better. Medium trade were firm to $6/head stronger in places and heavy trade sold mostly firm. Older Heavy export lambs were in limited supply and sold to $5 softer. Most older lambs were from $5 to $10 back on last week’s levels.

New season Lamb back to the paddock made from $25 to $145 and $152 to $170/head for lambs to feed on. New season Light trade lambs under 18kg sold from $95 to $150/head. Trade lambs 18 to 22kg sold from $159 to $200, and lambs over 22kg sold $190 to $237/head, with a wide range from 750c to 870c/kg cwt.

Older lambs under 18kg sold to the trade from $60 to $117, 18 to 26kg lambs made $113 to $212 and Over 26kg sold from $216 to $268/head, with a wide average range of 600c to 750c/kg cwt. Hoggets sold from $85 to $177 for the crossbreds and to $124/head for the Merino’s.

Mutton numbers Jumped to 14,200 penned. Merino wethers selling from $40 to $106, Slipping $4 to $11/head. Light weight Merino Ewes made from $28 to $72 and the heavier weights made from $50 to $90/head, selling $5 to $11 cheaper. Merino mutton averaged from 220c to 360c/kg cwt. Heavy crossbred mutton made from $62 to $116 selling from $7 to $15/head Softer.
